Image by onlocationmemphis.org In this learning outcome I have learned all about the three stages involved in production, The three stages are;

  • Pre-production
  • Production
  • Post-Production

Content comes in many different ranges, some of them are;

  • Image
  • Video
  • Audio
  • Text
  • Interactive

Pre-Production is where the idea is formed and the planning is done. The movie would be drawn up. Schedule and budget would be planned, Equipment and location would be arranged.The producer is in charge, but not only would just the producer be involved in this, he would have to have his own writers, designers and artist on sight.

Production is where the filming is done on the set. Each shot is filmed according to the plan that they have set up. There might be a variety of places involved,depending on the film. The director is in charge here. He has to guide the actors as well as the crew, which would involve cameramen, lighting, props,drivers,stuntmen, and Foley artist.

Post-production is where all the scenes that were filmed are edited and put together to make a full film. special effects, music and credits are all put in at the end. The editor is in charge here. There will be a lot of specialist involved who add effects and music. Publicists will be contacted and asked to advertise the film. A website will be formed specifically to inform people about the film and allow them to watch the newly created trailer.
